This session will provide an overview of the Sept 2020 KDE Guidance Document for Related Services. Emphasis will be on the integration of related services between therapists and the special and general education teachers/staff. An outcome of the session will be for participants to understand how related services are documented and implemented as part of the IEP. Session Outcomes:
1.Therapists will understand the role of the therapist in developing an IEP.
2.Therapists will have tools to integrate therapy with other therapists/parents/teachers.
- Therapists will network with therapists within the CKEC region on best practices in delivering related services to students with IEP.
Target Audience: General Education Teachers working with students with IEP’s, Co-Teachers, Interventionist, Instructional Coaches, Resource Teachers
Between May 20, 2021 and June 10, 2021, participants will work through approximately 10 modules at their own pace. The modules include guided notes, narrated slide decks, videos, readings, and a self-check. As participants work through the modules, they will be able to earn up to 18 hours of PD/EILA credit. Participants will need a copy of Recipe for Reading by Frances Bloom and Nina Traub. This session is set up to include 4 online Zoom Q&A calls to offer support and additional information. This 2-hour virtual (synchronous) workshop serves to support those who have completed the 8-day Cognitive CoachingSM Foundations Seminar. The outcomes for this session are:
- Reviewed and enhanced understanding of four capabilities for refining coaching skills
- Increased Craftsmanship with the Planning Conversation Map

Participants will receive 3 hours of PD credit.
This hybrid session is an overview of how to use explicit instruction to build and grow writing skills and the importance of writing across content areas. Initial content will be delivered in a 2 hour virtual session on July 21st 9:30-11:30. A self-paced module will be assigned to complete the 3 hours of PD.

Education is one of the toughest professions in the world! This session will explore the differences and causes of compassion fatigue and secondary traumatic stress. Participants will learn about different types of boundaries and how to set them. Participants will leave with a self-care plan and easy to implement strategies. This training is a hybrid training. There will be a self paced component as well as a virtual trainer led component. Self paced materials will be sent to participants by July 1, 2020. The link to the virtual trainer led component will be sent by the morning of July 8. The virtual component will take place at 12:30 on July 8. We all know the benefits of providing social emotional learning. Unfortunately, at times it feels like just another thing that we need to check off our to do list. This session will provide strategic ways to embed SEL throughout the day in both a face to face classroom and in a virtual setting. Resources will also be shared.

This session will provide participants tools to address anger, anxiety, and avoidance that is exhibited by all demographics of students in our classrooms. Participants will gain an understanding of the origins of these characteristics and how to be more equipped with addressing social emotional needs and better supporting academic success.
