Target Audience: Special education teachers, instructional coaches, administrators

 

3 Hours PD/EILA Credit

 

This is the fourth in a five part series of sessions focusing on the High Leverage Practices in Special Education. The series will be divided into the 5 teaching aspects of the HLPs.  This session is scheduled to be in-person at the CKEC training center; however, it may be moved to a virtual format if necessary. 

 

Session Four will focus on Instruction.  Instructional practices will include:  identifying and prioritizing long- and short-term learning goals, systematically designing instruction, adapting curriculum tasks and materials, teaching cognitive and metacognitive strategies, providing scaffolded supports and the use of explicit instruction.
