Serving Up Legally Sound & Instructionally Rich IEPs — With a Dash of Flavor!

Tired of IEPs that look fine on paper but don’t actually move the needle for students? This lively, hands-on session will take you beyond compliance and into the world of IEPs as powerful roadmaps for student success—all through the lens of a playful kitchen theme.

Participants will rotate through “chef-inspired” activities:

  • PLAAFP Pantry Challenge – Spot the weak present levels and spice them up with meaningful, data-rich details.
  • Goal Gourmet – Whip up measurable, ambitious IEP goals using tried-and-true recipes for progress.
  • Taste Test Progress – Mix up a batch of effective progress monitoring practices that keep teams informed and instruction on track.
  • Nailed It! Due Process Disaster Edition – Put on your chef’s hat and try to fix a “disaster IEP” before the timer runs out.

You’ll leave with:

  • Editable IEP “recipe cards” and templates for immediate use
  • A quick-reference checklist of common due process triggers and how to avoid them
  • Practical strategies for writing IEPs that are both legally compliant and instructionally meaningful
