We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

There are no upcoming dates for this event.

Target Audience: Any school staff

This hybrid PD session; Every Social Story is defined by criteria that outline the characteristics of the document and the process that parents and professionals follow to develop and implement it.  For example, the first step to developing a Social Story is to gather extensive information from a variety of sources. This preliminary investigation determines the specific Story topic as well as its focus, length, vocabulary, illustration, and more.  It’s a critical process that is often overlooked, minimized, or skipped altogether. In many cases, gathering information reveals an unforeseen solution to an issue or concern, and a Story is not needed or advisable. This session gives unprecedented attention to this critical step in the Social Story process.  At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: 1.       gather information for a Social Story, and identify or discover a relevant and meaningful topic; 2.       list seven frequently used sources of information; 3.       identify the one source of information required for every Social Story; and 4.       conduct a Comic Strip Conversation

Materials to review prior to the session will be sent one week prior.  At the end of the live session participants will be awarded 2.5 hours.  For more information contact sally.miracle@ckec.org.
