Target Audience: Middle, High, Alternative School Staff (certified and classified) and any others that work with 6th grade students and older.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a training that is evidenced based and is designed to help participants feel confident and comfortable to approach a youth experiencing a mental health challenge, mental disorder, or a mental health crisis and then refer the youth to a professional if needed. The first aid is given until appropriate help is received or until the crisis resolves. Mental Health First Aid does not teach people to diagnose or to provide treatment.
