This six hour face-to-face training is intended for teachers and administrators to walk through the action steps that would need to take place in order to get all members of a school community in agreement on expectations and norms surrounding best practices in mathematics. There is a focus on vertical and horizontal alignment of math pedagogy in a school building and/or district. Participants will work through and receive a copy of The Math Pact, written by Barbara Dougherty, Sarah Bush, and Karen Karp. This book and the idea of the Mathematics Whole School Agreement are promoted by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).
