Target Audience: General Education Teachers working with students with IEP’s, Co-Teachers, Interventionist, Instructional Coaches, Resource Teachers

Are you interested in learning more about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)? Join us for the AAC Playground. During this 2 hour session participants will rotate through 6 stations. Participants will be able to demonstrate aided language modeling, determine ways to engineer the environment to increase communication opportunities, describe different ways to use AAC to support literacy, identify strategies for using visual scene displays, and play around with AAC in a low stress environment.

Station 1. Make & Take Core Board/Folder

Station 2. Games with Peers

Station 3: Literacy with AAC

Station 4: Using Visual Scene AAC

Station 5: Engineering the Environment with Talking Switches

Station 6: Exploring AAC apps (with Tip Sheets)
