There are no upcoming dates for this event.

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, all school staff

This training will provide a look at suicide statistics in Kentucky. Participants will gain an understanding of the risk and warning signs of suicide.  Participants will also learn about protective factors and ways to increase them as a way to reduce suicide risk. Participants will also be trained in the suicide intervention QPR.  QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “Yes” to saving the life of a student, friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.  This training will take place in two parts. The first part will take place the morning of May 3 and the second part of the training will take place on May 4. Both sessions will take place from 8:30 – 12:00 Eastern. The sessions will take place virtually. The links to the sessions will be sent out no later than the end of the day on April 30, 2021.  We have submitted an application for OT CEUS for this session.
