We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

There are no upcoming dates for this event.

Target Audience: 6-12 ELA Teachers, Instructional Coaches, Deeper Learning Leads, Administrators

This is the second day of a two-day cohort designed for 6-12 English Language Arts (ELA) teachers to support educators in fostering inquiry and student-centered discussions. Even if you did not attend Day 1 of the cohort, where participants learned the what, why, and how of essential questions to build a culture of sustained inquiry in their classroom, you may still join us for the second day of the cohort. On Day 2,  we will focus on how to implement a student-centered literature program that promotes critical thinking and literary understanding through the study of novels and other texts. Participants will learn how to use whole-class novels as a model to guide students to choice books and book clubs that build on skills taught through whole-class novels.

Anchor texts for this training include Whole Novels for the Whole Class by Ariel Sacks and A Novel Approach by Kate Roberts. Participants will receive free copies of these texts to support their learning and implementation of ideas. If a participant missed the first day of the cohort, the facilitators will email participants a copy of the Day 1 slides prior to the Day 2 training date.
