We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

There are no upcoming dates for this event.

Target Audience: CKEC and Statewide Crisis Response Team members

This day is for all CKEC Crisis Response Team leads and other team members who wish to join. Part of the day will include the annual psychological first aid training and updates required to be a part of the team.  The SAFER-R Model for Psychological First Aid was developed by Dr. George Everly in 1996 and has been used for almost thirty years to stabilize individuals following a crisis event.  SAFER-R is not psychotherapy, nor counseling, but rather an evidence-informed approach that aims to reduce stress symptoms and help facilitate recovery.  SAFER-R stands for Stabilize, Acknowledge, Facilitate Understanding, Encourage, Recovery, and/or Referral.  It is most effectively utilized in the immediate aftermath of an acute crisis event and enables the crisis responder to triage and stabilize, offering practical assistance and information.  SAFER-R is an integral part of “Stabilization” referred to in the PREPaRE Crisis Intervention Model.
