“That’s Why They Do That! Now What Do I Do?” will focus on connecting the characteristics of autism spectrum disorder to the challenging behavior autistic students may display in the classroom. Dr. Reeve will discuss strategies to decrease the occurrence of challenging behaviors, explore methods to teach replacement behaviors (which ensure long-term behavior change) and teach how to respond to challenging behaviors when they occur (without accidentally reinforcing them).
