Research shows that trauma exposure in childhood affects brain development. It is not a hopeless cause though. Research also shows that the negative effects of trauma can be reversed. This session will explore instructional strategies to help students achieve academic success. A brief overview of trauma will also be discussed as well as some non-instructional classroom strategies.

Note this is a hybrid learning opportunity: This training consists of three components. There is a self-paced learning component that will be sent via email to participants on June 9. These materials will need to be reviewed prior to the June 16 Zoom sessions. There will be two Zoom sessions. The first Zoom session will be June 16 from 9:00 – 10:30. The second Zoom session will take place June 16 from 1:00 – 2:30.  A link to the Zoom session will be sent to registered participants by 6:00 on June 15.
