Target Audience: Special Ed Teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Paraprofessionals

Are you interested in learning more about assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)? Join UK HDI’S TAALC staff as they lead us through hands-on stations designed to increase comfort level and experience with AT and AAC devices and evidence-based practices. During this 2-hour session, participants will be able to demonstrate aided language modeling, determine ways to engineer the environment to increase communication opportunities, describe different ways to use AAC to support literacy, identify strategies for using visual scene displays, and play around with AAC in a low-stress environment. This is a fun, casual session where you can feel free to ask questions as you gain experience. Don’t miss out on the chance to work with this group of highly respected communication experts!
