Target Audience: Math Teachers grades K-12; Coaches, Interventionists, Administrators, Multilingual Learner Teachers

Do your students struggle to communicate their thinking in math class?  This session will explore strategies that can be used to increase written communication in the classroom.  Both formal and informal writing will be addressed.   It will also provide instructional tools for teaching mathematical vocabulary.   We will also share strategies for supporting multilingual learners to write in math class.

Throughout the day, participants will work in grade bands to tailor the work to their students’ needs.

It will be beneficial if participants bring a computer and any rubrics they use for extended response or short answer.  6 hours of EILA credit will be available.
