Target Audience: Special education teachers, general education teachers who work with students in special education, teachers in alternative school settings, administrators and counselors

 

Content for this session will be delivered during 3 2-hour sessions and will provide participants with tools to address anger, anxiety, and avoidance that is exhibited by all demographics of  students in our classrooms.  Participants will gain an understanding of the origins of these characteristics and how to be more equipped with addressing social emotional needs and better supporting academic success. Registrants will receive a copy of Emotional Poverty in All Demographics: How to Reduce Anger, Anxiety, and Violence in the Classroom by Ruby Payne. (Participants will be notified when to pick up their copy at the CKEC training center.) Registrants from outside the CKEC region may register, but will need to provide their own book.
