9/28/2021 Part 4 of The Essential Social Stories 10.3 Workshop Series: Writing Them Right!! Hands-On Practice with Social Stories

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

There are no upcoming dates for this event.

Target Audience: Any school staff

This hybrid PD session, Writing a Social Story,  will review what seems like a straight-forward and easy process until faced with a blank computer screen or piece of paper! What to write? Gathering information and the rest of the Social Story Criteria provides a significant head start, but it doesn’t place words on paper. After a quick recap of the first three sessions, participants have time to develop a Story for possible review and feedback of the Stories they write. Writing a Social Story is harder than most people think! Having the opportunity to “be in the same boat” and work with others makes the experience less stressful and more fun. Participants may wish to bring a first Story draft, and complete it during this session.  Join us!  At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: 1.       begin (and maybe finish!) writing a Social Story; 2.       identify three common forms of illustration and the benefits/drawbacks of each; and 3.       describe how to determine and interpret the Social Story Rating for any story. Materials to review prior to the session will be sent one week prior.  At the end of the live session participants will be awarded 2.5 hours.  For more information contact sally.miracle@ckec.org.
