This training will be presented by Monica Oganes, Ph.D in two 2.5 hour virtual sessions over two days. When you register for the session you are committing to participate virtually for both sessions. The intended audience is school psychologists and DoSE.
The big ideas for the training are:
- Determining the differences between acquiring a second language and having an
educational disability.
- Factors to consider for evaluation planning (i.e. completion of parent surveys,
observations, educational assessments).
- Recognizing and documenting potential exclusionary factors of students with ELL for
special education services, during referral and before identification.
