Target Audience: SLP’s, SLPA’s, School Psychologists

Using current evidence, this course will provide an overview of the characteristics of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) as well as the diagnostic process for CAS. Particular emphasis will be placed on differentiating CAS from other speech sound disorders (SSDs) using observable measures and clinical data. The known impact of CAS on language and literacy development will also be discussed. Finally, clinical cases will be used to emphasize key considerations in evaluating and generating therapeutic and educational recommendations for children with CAS.
