This training will be presented by Monica Oganes, Ph.D in a 2.5 hour virtual session.
The intended audience is school language pathologists.
The big ideas for the training are:
- Determining the differences between acquiring a second language and having an
educational disability.
- Factors to consider for evaluation planning for suspected speech disorders (i.e. completion of parent surveys,
observations, educational assessments).
- Recognizing and documenting potential exclusionary factors of students with ELL for
special education services, during referral and before identification.
