6/24/2020 Planning Communication – SETT Framework

Target Audience: A team consisting of at least a teacher and SLP who work with students with communication needs.

This hybrid professional 2.5 hour learning session includes 2 hours of webinar based learning and an additional 30 minutes for homework. This professional learning program will focus communication teams on using an adaption of the Student, Environment, Task, Tool (SETT) framework to identify communication forms and intents, preferences, access factors, instructional targets, and intervention options for a student who needs Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC).  Teams will develop an intervention action plan and are eligible to apply for Communication Team Coaching in the Fall 2020. Coaching involves 2 – 30 minute team zoom calls with TAALC staff to monitor progress, problem solve, borrow AAC devices and materials.  A teacher/SLP team is highly recommended.
