Target Audience: School Counselors, Administrators, School Psychologists, and other members of school threat assessment teams

The Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) is an evidence-based model for schools to use in conducting threat assessments. This model was developed by Dr. Dewey Cornell and colleagues at the University of Virginia in 2001 and has been extensively examined through field tests and controlled studies that demonstrate its utility and effectiveness.  This training is most effective when completed by all members of the threat assessment team.  Participants will be able to work as a member of an multidisciplinary team to:

  • Identify students and situations that raise concern
  • Gather information and facts to assess risk of violence
  • Develop  intervention and management strategies to support the student and prevent violence.

6 Hours of EILA will be available.
